This is the final installation of the Balmain Fall Winter 2014 menswear showroom sneak peek review, as the collection sets out to be delivered by this month towards the end of September. Despite it’s initial flamboyant approach of the “Glamazon Boys” thematic inspired from Peter Hill Beard’s East African memories, the current fall winter is not as bad as one could imagine, much like the antecedent Balmain Spring Summer 2014 naval edition which lacks acceptance support during the beginning but was later received in success. Speaking of Balmain Spring Summer 2014, SSENSE has just made the final mark down and most of the items has gone 70%! I just picked up a pair of the Balmain Navy Quilted Leather High-Top Sneakers, it was literally a steal.
It is often difficult to evaluate from the earlier Paris Fashion Week Balmain presentation, such as the latest Balmain Spring Summer 2015 sportswear inspired concept as most significant pieces relevant towards common consumer interest are often unrevealed until the pre-order cycle. In the Balmain Fall Winter 2014 menswear, Olivier Rousteing utilises the same approach with little disclosure, this collection is rather promising as the main highlight of this season offers an abundance of style ranging from the upmost elaborate pieces beaded pieces towards the most masculinity creations. In this case, the new Balmain Camouflage Zipped Hooded Biker Jacket was based from the Spring Summer 2012 leather jacket (now available in olive green) has seen dramatic changes for Fall Winter 2014. There is a lot to love here, classic camouflage print dressed with additional multi-utility pockets, shimmery zipper detailing in modern asymmetrical construction and hidden hooded feature convey the multiple aspects of military wear infused with Parisian street-style elegance, it is the perfect collection piece that characterise an imaginative collaboration between Rousteing and Decarnin.
Other significant pieces that will draw huge interest includes a matching Balmain Camouflage Print Biker Denim Jeans that is currently pending in availability and the recent added Balmain Pony Leopard Calf Hair Leather High-Top Sneakers selling out fast in Luisa Via Roma also now available at Farfetch since the beginning of June this month. Besides the above value added collection pieces, there is the pretentious Balmain Logo-Print Cotton T-Shirt which seems to derive from the replica world would offer a great edition towards those who are a little more pretentious, not to forget the super-enlarged gold embroidered Balmain crest detailing on a classic Balmain Black Zipped Hooded Jacket makes us wonder what was the creative designer thinking.
Although the digital printed brushstroke repercussion seem to be a notion of exploration techniques that involves emotion and texture aesthetics, it is ultimately inspired from the art of movement and the breakdown of space on how our mind perceives the form and colours, a simplistic intricate piece that has yet to be filled with room for admiration.
Riccardo Tisci spotted earlier this month with Dean and Dan Caten from DSQUARED2, wearing the Fall Winter 2014 Givenchy Black Team Photography Columbian-Fit T-Shirt
Photographed by Mert & Marcus for Vogue Paris April 2014 issue, the ‘Le gang de Riccardo’ editorial featured Riccardo Tisci wear’s the future Givenchy Black 17 Lucifero Sweatshirt from the Fall Winter 2014 collection.
The Balmain Fall Winter 2014 collection previewed earlier in Paris Fashion Week is a beautiful and mesmerising menswear collection. Olivier Rousteing has placed his full skills to the test by demonstrating a challenging mix of feminism cross masculinity abbreviated style. This new season approached a showcase of safari adventures for a Balmaniac glamazon boy featuring an array of signature military styles along with a fancy revised thematic for the upcoming autumn-winter season.

I know it can be strange to say that new Balmain Homme 2014 collection has improved over the past seasons. You may find ways to dislike and even argue about the collection because it doesn’t has the essence that it once used to offer during Christophe Decarnin’s era — remember the ‘limited styles’ distressed biker denims, waxed bikers, wool pea coats with chunky military buttons, a modern crop blazer finish with a pair of military boots, we missed it for sure. But judging by the current year collection there are many potential pieces to be enjoyed in a traditional way, just made prettier to feed into a seasonal story that may not be accepted for those who once knew Balmain as a timeless high-end luxury fashion house.
More detailed photos of the ‘Glamazon Boyz’ collection since the day it was unveiled at the Balmain Fall Winter 2014 menswear presentation during day two of Paris Fashion Week. An abbreviated style showcase inspired by the beauty of Peter Hill Beard’s East African memories. There are two sides illustrated in the collection, augmented from Olivier Rousteing’s flamboyant introductory followed by the retention of the masculinity Balmain Homme. The main highlights for the Fall Winter 2014 season presents an abundance of olive green military tones, aviator jackets flushed with classic green camouflage, while contemporary styles are dressed up in wild leopard prints, finishing with a spectacular detailing of shimmering embroidered, beads, zippers and traditional silver military buttons. IN MOTION: BALMAIN FALL WINTER 2014 MENSWEAR PRESENTATION
Greetings from DRBLOGSPOT! We are now in the year 2014, can you believe it? Have you enjoyed your holidays so far? I did, spent a lovely week off work at Sydney, Australia – a beautiful city where I call ‘home’, dream home to be exact. Was there for the boxing day sales and manage to pick myself up a some pretty pretty pieces (mainly for workwear), including a gorgeous pair of Christian Louboutin White Louis Spikes High-Top Sneaker that I have always wanted! Also this week I received my Givenchy Bambi Print Cuban-Fit T-Shirt that I searched high and low for weeks, will blog about these by this weekend when i’ve documented them along with an OOTD! Meanwhile, MR PORTER on the other hand has just announced it’s official international sales since earlier this Sunday, while SSENSE took it further to 70% off final sale items! Be sure to check them out asap.
Without further ado, just a few quick snap shots recently collected from the earlier Balmain Homme Spring Summer 2014 Presentation Day, here are a few items that were previously unseen from the official lookbook and sneak peek collection. I particularly adore the Balmain Embroidered-Badge Zipped Biker Denim Jacket, it is currently the ‘talk of the town’ that features a natural washed finish, the subtle worn out feeling on the classic blue denim is just a perfect balance with the modern touch of futuristic biker detailing. Pair this jacket with a basic distressed collar Balmain 3 Pack Cotton Jersey T-Shirt and the latest innovated Balmain 16cm Light Grey Washed Knee-Padded Biker Stretch Denim Jeans with some crisp Balmain White High-Tops for the ultimate look is just super ace! However, beware of light colour transfers from the stained blue denim biker as they will get quite mucky after some rubs.
Besides the most exciting showcased as mentioned, there is a detailed line of photographs emphasising on the Balmain Embroidered-Badge Washed Leather Biker Jacket, a master piece from the SS14 collection that can be currently found at Luisa Via Roma for a hefty $5,357. It is a distinctive jacket that posses eccentric characteristics which includes the time-honoured biker zip details in an aviator asymmetrical style jacket inspired with a key maritime detailing, is just a complex thematic piece. This jacket is definitely not my cup of tea but it houses a beautiful leather blueish grey washed finish that is difficult to resist, the softness by it looks ceases my eyes. IMO, without the large embroidered badges and maritime shoulder boards would make it a perfect timeless leather jacket! Oh wait a minute, they already have it on Farfetch from the FW13 in Burgundy and it is now 40% off for only $1711.
The third jacket just below the seasonal iconic Balmain Embroidered-Badge Striped Cotton Fleece Sweatshirt is the Balmain Black Matelassé (mat-la-SAY) Zipped Sweat Jacket, priced at a reasonable $1,350, is predicted that will sell well and if you like fancy the details on it be sure to watch this piece appear later some time closer to summertime. Paired in the photo with the sweat jacket, the model wears an exceptional Balmain 16cm Blue Raw Selvage Skinny Biker Denim Jeans, this exclusive Made in Japan piece has full-on essential characteristics such as the deep dark blue denim finish with orange-gold stitching also presume to be a successor for the impending Spring Summer 2014 collection.
Main highlights for the upcoming collection is pretty much the same, no surprisers here except for Saint Laurent fans. Hedi Slimane has retain his sartorial styles infused with a rock and roll style that disregarded anything else that is going on in menswear. Like a taskmaster through constant repetition, the new collection showcased familiar pieces amended with seasonal colours and signature prints. The frame work continues to be reinforced each season by adding value one piece at a time. Shop the Saint Laurent Fall Winter 2013 collection at Farfetch for exclusive selections and better prices.
The Saint Laurent Biker Leather Jacket that can be found earlier at SSENSE is soon available in red for the SS14 menswear collection, also spotted earlier in the womenswear collection looks as if the next tactical move for Slimane is to merge his mens and womenswear together, or has it already begun. There is an understated elegance Saint Laurent Iconic Le Smoking Canvas Wool Jacket now comes with the loveable baby cat leopard print unveiling it’s hidden agenda. From the leather goods and accessories corner, there is a noteworthy piece called the Saint Laurent Classic Hunter Backpack dressed in baby cat which I absolutely adore when compared to the current monotonous selection found here.
Other than these, no doubt G-Dragon 지드래곤 will be sighted with the Saint Laurent Chain-Lapel Cropped Jacket as shown below, it is almost like a déjà vu to predict what Korean celebs will be wearing next season. At the moment, SSENSE is having a up to 50% off clearance sale!
Update: The Saint Laurent Spring Summer 2014 collection is now available for pre-order at LuisaViaRoma.com!
