Givenchy Pre-Fall 2014 Menswear

9th January 2014
Parisan renowned creative director Riccardo Tisci recently advocate his Givenchy Pre-Fall 2014 menswear collection inline with his womenswear pre-collection at New York earlier this week. The collection accounts of eleven essential looks interpreted for the imminent Pre-Fall Givenchy man – including a topless look if anyone here is keen enough to experiment. The signature lookbook with a model standing straight in front of the camera were photographed in a typical New York townhouse district shortly after a month from the exclusive Givenchy Pre-Fall buyer’s presentation day which excluded a press release.

The Givenchy Pre-Fall 2014 menswear collection is another cross-pollinating series featuring strong tribal touches from the emerging techno-ethnic print that is reworked from the Givenchy Spring Summer 2014 collection. A continuation of the geometric shapes innovated with a dark gothic theme, this time Tisci focuses on timeless classic wardrobe pieces with strong fashion iconic pieces, particularly with the new Rave bag in primary ethnic-inspired shades that sit on a mostly gothic black and grey foundation is noticeably Givenchy.

In this season, iconic pieces from previous seasonal designs has been revised to play with the summer techno-ethnic thematic. Seen below here includes the Givenchy Gold-Plated Collar Stay White Cotton Shirt from the Givenchy Fall Winter 2013 collection has been updated with new red metallic finishing, classic mixed-tartan plaid print shirt spotted is a known all-time favorite from Tisci’s personal taste, star & stripes from Fall Winter 2012 came back with a monochrome-out techno-tribal coat from the revised bomber jacket, classic wool-blend suits with revised collars and cuts along with tri-shade greys and not to forget the iconic V-Cut Givenchy trouser that has been reworked using bleaching denim techniques with mixed materials clothing are made with leather, denim and neoprene combinations. Finishing the look with extra-large silver belt buckle inspired sandals and shoes worn with mono-contrast leggings.

Overall this season’s preview is not much of a surprise for any seasonal-veteran customers, all too familiar to begin with. Unique past season styles are unexpectedly brought back with new updates are a form of patience test towards Givenchy fanatics questioning their buying decision for the forthcoming Givenchy Pre-Fall 2014 menswear collection. The styling rule here for this season is monochromatic formal wear with a touch of primary colours and subtle prints with noticeable differences.

shoes again, not sure not available.
Why do they have such a problem with casual shoes (only sneakers are available)

    • Because Riccardo Tisci likes Nike a lot, and his Givenchy sneakers are highly inspired by sportswear, such as the Nike Air Force One.

They are already producing the runway shoes now, so all runway footwear should be available from SS14 onward. :)

Thanks for the blog Maurice, top work as always!

See some hype on those Black African Lady, Abstract Print and Black Computer Bomber.
New standing collar suit with Cufflinks button is also challenge.
However the black trouser with grey striped detail reminds me a lot of Neil Barrett works from a last collection.

Fair in overall, but this might be a very tough buy – very commercial, predictable with a lacks of newness.

    • Thank you.

Yes, I think they are Neil Barrett inspired from FW13. I also bought a shirt from the BLACKBARRETT which has the same directional arrows as the above collection. So its nothing exciting for me except the prints as always. The Black African Lady reminds me of the Doberman they did one year ago. It is definitely unique with its multi-colour colourway.

I'm pretty sure they will be more than the above, there will always be something special they they have yet to display.

An African lady print tee in an oversized fit is all what i need.
    Thanks for the post

    • Good choice, the safest and the best to buy for every season is a main print oversize t-shirt!
