SSENSE Spring Summer 2014 SALE

27th May 2014
What to buy at the SSENSE sale? A question often difficult to answer in a short time constraints. While you were busy making up your mind about which pair of slip ons are going to match your envision ootd, there are others elsewhere in the globe who has already done their homework and are cash ready to checkout with your size! Unfortunately, this is a brutal world, time and tide wait for no man. Unless you are one of them who has done your pre-planning shopping splurge list to have an transcendent sale trip at SSENSE, then you can start shopping NOW.

To cut down buying time, there are six vital steps to determine the worthiness of your purchase. Remember to only to buy what you need and want the most. DO NOT BUY because it is cheap or because it has a hefty discount. YOU BUY because of your wise decision making.
  • STEP ONE – Figure out your goals. What would you expect to experience how the particular item will make you feel, and the expected utility. Use experience base to search for items you want the most, such as this staple Common Projects Black Leather High Shine Crepe Sole Derby. Remember the pleasurable quality of past experiences with a similar products, how the experience felt during the best or worst (buyer’s remorse!), and how they felt when after utilising the items.
  • STEP TWO – Evaluate the importance of each goal. Once you had made up your mind, you will have to assess your budget to accommodate your wishlist. Think about the most memorable items you liked the most after reviewing the SSENSE sale website. Like this Saint Laurent Classic Biker Black Leather Jacket that is a timeless masterpiece by Hedi Slimane, and will likely remain relevant in fashion for years ahead. Also worn by many celebrities which eventually adds up to it’s product value (sadly this is true!). Gather your research, be confident with the product information that you have obtain. The evaluation will influence the weight of your decision base on the amount of information garner, the more the greater.
  • STEP FOUR – Evaluate how likely each options is to meet your goals. Figure out how likely you will be wearing it, and how many times you can wear it for this season or even the next. Use your creativity to shape your identity, imagine if you had the item with you now and how likely it will compliment your entire wardrobe. May it be regarded as a seasonal phase, for example these current popular Valentino Fluro Camouflage Rockstud Sneakers that may be tempting to buy because every fashionista has one. Or perhaps you may want to settle for something safer, like this Saint Laurent Studded Slip On Sneaker that will likely able to withstand repetition, and that repetition bears out its acceptance as a classic.
  • STEP FIVE – Picking the winning option. Once you have selected the prized item, make a quick commitment to checkout before your counterparts does. Congratulations! As you are now likely to perceive the winning option as a gain, and will unlikely leave any sense of regret after having made an expensive purchase.
  • STEP SIX – Modify your goals. Consequently after a few checkouts of your choices, you will be able to modify your goals to meet your current (baseline) or higher standards. Hedonistic charge comes when an experience exceeds expectations, and will further determine the way future possibilities are evaluated and how well your money is being spent!

By utilising the above steps, I have manage to filter out what I needed the most from the sale. In this case, i’ve bought the Giuseppe Zanotti Black Calfskin Leather High Top Sneakers over the Balmain Navy Quilted Leather High Top Sneakers that was my initial choice since the beginning of pre-planning. I have carefully my options and weight out with good reason to settle with the Giuseppe Zanotti’s instead. And possibly determined the best product of my choice that will eventually provide a valuable experience, let’s see when I receive this later.

Below here is a tasteful selection of items that I have carefully evaluated. If only I had a bank big enough to accomplish my SSENSE end of season sale mission!

  • Just curious, never really tried SSENSE before but always there to check their website's sales and good quality images, How are the taxes evaluated when imported into Malaysia? or are there no taxes implied into the products you bring into Malaysia like MRPORTER or MatchesFashion.

    • Send me a FB message and i'll explain to you how it works.

    Maurice,
Any thoughts on layering the Givenchy tees so we can use them more often.
    Specially the oversized t-shirts.
Sometimes i wear them over a cuban fit sweatshirt.
Do you think other combos might work as well like wearing them over a long sleeved RO long sleeve t-shirt.

    • Are you planning to wear them during colder months in autumn and winter? I think the combo is pretty tricky, it depends on your style too. By all means do reference what LVR presents. Like the below:

      http://bit.ly/NTKrYe

In my own opinion, if you want to play with layering, then you must also pair the same layering for the bottoms. I.e, shorts + leggings and sandals to complete the entire look.

      Exactly during colder months.
For example if i am wearing a Rick Owen Shorts or Pod Shorts with a black legging. To add, i use this long sleeved for layering purposes (color: Black or Tear, Composition:85%vi 15%se).

After that i can add any oversized t-shirt from givenchy or cuban fit ones.
I am not into wearing shirts and i can wear such outfits to University.
I am looking forward to make use of my big t-shirt collection from Givenchy year round.
But will a trainer (Geobasket or Pik Pik from CL) look nice with such an outfit?
And is it valid to wear sandals in the cold months or adding a socks will do?
I have issues with layering although i can see many guys on instagram doing it perfectly.
      Thanks Maurice.

Or maybe i can get this one to wear over the t-shirts.
      https://www.ssense.com/men/product/givenchy/black-horn-print-cropped-sweatshirt/87392
      What do you think?
Or shall i stick with the RO long sleeved tees in my previous post?

    Maurice
Which Rottweiler sweatshirt to buy the grey or black?
Did you decide if you will get the sweatshirt version?

    • Grey of course!

I'm getting the t-shirt as if I am getting the sweatshirt it would be impossible to wear it to work. Would probably scare of all my clients!

    Maurice,
How can you sell your old givenchy pieces?
    is there a valid reason?
Do you believe the designs are no longer relevant or because you don't have the chance to wear them more often?
For instance, i will never think of selling my green and red fighter t-shirts and i mean it never ever.

    • I'm selling because I don't get any chance to wear them anymore. When new season comes in, it is compulsory for me to buy the latest collections. And when I do, I will wear the latest only. As you may not know, I have an office job which most of the time I am in sartorial style – suits, ties, lapel pins, pocket square, classic oxfords and brogues, bet you never saw this coming 😛

So the only time for me to play with Givenchy is during the weekends, and if i'm lucky I can wear them on Friday, but only the sweatshirts and shirts and t-shirts will get me a warning letter.

Therefore I believe it is time to sell my old collections, there no point for me to keep them as much as I want too. :( Time to let it go to those who really needs it.

    • P.S. If you want to sell your red fighter, pls pls pls contact me by email. I am still looking for it as my green one was lost in a hotel :(

    • The Givenchy Rottweiler Print Sweatshirt in Gray is Columbian-Fit. The Black Wool Rottweiler is Cuban-Fit.

Take two size down for Columbian-Fit. XS = M.

    • Anonymous

      Thanks Maurice,
But why antonioli stated that it has a cuban fit or its a different one?
      Tx

    • I believe it is Columbian-Fit, sometimes they might make terrible mistakes. But do check with them first, as most places are currently selling the oversize only.

When will LVR introduce the international sale?
Why that privilege for the US customers, they did not even send me a promo code although i keep buying from them.
Any idea when they will introduce FW pre-orders?

    • USA sales takes the leads first than international. Most items will go on sale for US exclusive only, while international sale starts this month. Luisa Via Roma Fall Winter 2014 pre-order starts this week :)

    Maurice,
Is the style of this jacket meant to be worn open.
    https://www.ssense.com/men/product/givenchy/black-pink-peony-print-denim-jacket/87283
Even from the size guide it gives an indication that the it has to be an open style jacket.
    Right?
Any possibility to find it in bigger sizes?

    Maurice,

I bought the thom browne houndstooth brogues.
Any ideas on what to wear with them?
I've been wearing basic things and then having the shoes as a point since it has the pattern.

    thanks!
